Tailored programmes for your event
Based on the number of participants, age, abilities, experience, the type of the event and venue, we tailor the activities to your needs. Tell us what you would like and we will plan your event for you in detail.
Archery is great fun and a perfect activity for all kinds of events:
- Family events, Birthday parties
- Team buildings, Corporate events
- Fundraising events, Festivals, Shows
- School activity days or PE Program
- Archery camps during school holidays
- Hen and stag parties, Weddings & Anniversary party
Choose the activity that best suits your event
There are several different activities available to choose from. These are the most popular activities and programmes:
- “Have-a-go” archery which allows participants to shoot 3 to 6 arrows at a time. This is ideal for events with a high number of visitors such as festivals, shows, charity events, etc. and for safety reason this has to be a one-to-one experience (one archer with one instructor at a time). The more instructors there are the more participants can shoot at a time.
- Introductory sessions in which participants will have more time to shoot and develop skills. Fun games and mini competitions can be organised which are perfect for groups, team buildings and corporate events. At an introductory session the maximum number of participants is 20 to 24.
- Private coaching at all levels. One-to-one, one-to-two sessions or small groups up to 6 people. Goal setting will be agreed between the archer(s) and the coach and archers may shoot with their own bow, although we can provide lighter poundage bows if needed.
Contact us and we will help you find the best option for you.

Duration of a Session & Shooting Time
Duration of a session
The duration of a session depends on the event type and the number of participants. In general, an activity can last from 1.5 to a whole day event.
Preparation and break-down: set up time prior to the event takes 45 to 90 minutes. Break-down time is approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Shooting time
Time flies when you are having fun and shoot, especially when you can shoot at different targets like the standard target faces, fun target faces, balloons, apple, etc. If you feel like trying different bow styles as well (e.g. horsebow, flatbow, etc.) you might need a bit longer shooting time.
1.5-hour long session: ~70-75 minutes shooting time
2-hour long session: ~100-105 minutes shooting time
2.5-hour long session: ~130-135 minutes shooting time
Whether it is a 1.5 or 3-hour long session at the end you will definitely experience improvement in your shooting technique and accuracy.
Suitable Location & Space Requirements
Location of the range
Archery for You is a mobile service so as long as you have a suitable outdoor or indoor location, we will bring the archery experience to you. Although we are based in Poole-Bournemouth (Dorset), we are happy to travel to the neighbouring counties as well (Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire). In case you have a suitable venue in these counties, please contact us for further details. We do consider travelling to other counties as well depending on the date, location of the event and our availability.
Space Requirement
The minimum space requirement depends on the programme you choose and the number of participants.
Outdoor operational area: the minimum requirement for “have-a-go” events is a 20m x 6m space. The minimum safety zone is 20m clear space behind the targets, free from public paths and pedestrian access and 10m each side of the range. In case of “have-a-go” archery the shooting distance is maximum 10m, targets are placed on the ground and backstop netting is used.
For indoors, the minimum operational area is similar, but there is no need for overshooting area. We will use safety netting behind the targets. Before every event we will conduct a pre-assessment evaluation of the venue.
Age & Disability
Age limitation
Our mobile archery range service is suitable for people of all ages. The minimum age limit cannot be set accurately based on the age only. Ability to do archery is linked to the ability to draw the bow. In general, archery is suitable from the age of 7 to 107 (okay, if you are 110 you can still come). There is no maximum age limit for archery, lots of people take up archery as a sport or recreational activity after retirement. We have bows of varying draw weight and sizes so children, adults and senior citizens can all enjoy archery.
Please note that if the participants are small children or people with special needs, it might become a one-to-one support at the shooting line.
Disability
Most people, irrespective of age or disability, can take part in archery. Within certain physical parameters, we are able to help you to do archery. Archery can be very beneficial for people with many disabilities as it increases strength and endurance, develops stability, sharpens focus, builds confidence and improves social relationships.
Booking & Price
Booking
You can book an archery session anytime, but sooner the better to avoid disappointment. We are quite flexible, however, we need to make sure that we do all the preparation for you in advance e.g. checking the safety aspect(s) of the venue.
Price
The price depends on a number of factors such as the number of participants, the duration of a session, venue, location of the venue, etc. We would like to make archery accessible to everyone by providing our services at an affordable price. Please get in touch for your quotation. Depending on the location of the event we might need to calculate with travel expenses.
Deposit
There will be a deposit of 15-20% to be paid in advance that secures the booking of your archery session. The preferred payment method is Bank Transfer. When a booking is made, you will receive a booking confirmation from us via e-mail.
